Bio Name: Vincent Walter Monroe Year: 7th House: Hufflepuff Ten Words: quiet, awkward, friendly, shy, loyal, secretive, optimistic, lame, laid-back, impressionable At first glance, Vincent is your typical nice boy. But upon further inspection, one comes to realise that not only is Vincent a nice boy, he is also a terribly non-confrontational (unless provoked to the extreme), socially awkward, and, above all, lame boy. Yes, that's Vincent for you. He's quite friendly but he's also shy, and he is more than a bit on the nervous side. It takes him forever to work up the courage to do something, and when he does do it, he always feels as though he'll never be able to do anything to the fullest extent. He has a habit of rambling when he's nervous, and making really strange connections and jokes as well, which usually makes people think that he is a very odd boy. Vincent also fairly low self-esteem, and he really looks up to others that he deems "cooler" than himself, and he tries to emulate these people. Sometimes it works, but usually it doesn't, leaving Vincent feeling even more worthless and uncool than usual. This also makes Vincent an easy target for manipulation, since he'll generally believe what anyone says about him (negative and positive). Years of being beaten up by Colin Mayfield and Co. (since he used to anatagonise the boy when they were younger) have given Vincent fairly low self-esteem, and the guilt of the fact that the reason he gets beat up all the time is his fault have left Vincent feeling as though most of what happens in life is his fault. He doesn't usually retaliate when he is attacked, but he has a lot of pent-up rage that escapes when he is beaten up one time too many. Vincent would also usually prefer to keep his feelings to himself. He doesn't like anyone to see when he's upset or when he's angry about something, and he would like to come across as a person who is always happy (even though he fails miserably at pretending to be happy. Miserably, I say.) Strengths Vincent excels at Charms and, subsequently Transfiguration. Those are really the only things that he's very good at, though he's quite good with Care of Magical Creatures, DADA, and Herbology (but only average). As for his personality, Vincent is friendly, and he tries his hardest to dwell on the positive and to say good things about people. He's very loyal when it comes to his friends (for example: BOYKO). Another one of his strengths is that he really does try hard in well...everything. He doesn't give up very easily. Vincent is also just an all-around nice guy. He treats women with respect and he doesn't really enjoy putting others down, and he is a top-notch friend. He's also pretty good at playing Quidditch! Weaknesses Vincent sucks at Potions, plain and simple. SUCKS. He also has a bad habit of lying about even the smallest of things, and the bad thing is that he's sometimes very good at it (even when it is completely obvious that the opposite is the case, he'll insist that something is true when it isn't). He just thinks of it as liking to keep his secrets, however. He also is somewhat narrow-minded when it comes to his enemies: for instance, he refuses, and will continue to refuse, to believe that any of the 7th year Slytherin males have any redeemable qualities. Vincent also has a habit of keeping things inside--either he thinks that they don't care, or he doesn't want to worry others with his problem. This leads to a lot of pent-up rage which is either directed at the right person (but in an exaggerated sort of way), or at the wrong person altogether. Fears Vincent is actually quite good at living a life in fear. His main fears are being visciously attacked by any one of the seventh year Slytherin males, and some fears that stem from this are his fear of large bodies of water, of small, enclosed spaces, and of physical pain. However, the fear that completely overshadows this one is the fear that he'll be the cause of the death/serious injury of someone that he loves and cares for. Because of this, he feels that he is somewhat responsible for his father's death simply because he hasn't allowed his family to continue to live 'under the radar,' if you will.  (and other stuff!)
